ABOUT

Who makes this

Fireside Tales is one person and a telephone. My name is Edgar.

The company

Fireside Tales is new. This is the first season it has sold anything, which means one person and a lot of machines are making these books — and when something goes wrong there is nobody for it to be handed to, so it comes to me and I answer it.

Fireside Tales is made by Solstice Solutions LLC, an Illinois company. There is no support desk and no rota. When you write to hello@fireside-tales.com, I read it.

Books are printed and posted within the United States.

Why a picture book

A long book about someone’s life gets read once, by adults, and then it sits on a shelf. A picture book gets read at bedtime, a hundred times, by a four-year-old who can hold it.

That is the whole reason this has the shape it does. I picked the format that puts her story into a child’s hands and keeps it there, and everything else — the phone call, the proof, the narration — follows from that one decision.

How the books are made

A real conversation with your storyteller; AI helps turn it into the book. You approve every page before it prints.

We say that plainly, on the product page and here, because burying it would cost more than it saves. Two things keep it honest. Your storyteller is told what this is before anything is recorded and can say no. And you read every page before a single copy prints.

If something goes wrong

If the call never happens, we refund you in full. Up to three attempts, or seven days after the last one, and no form to fill in.

The whole policy is on the refunds page, in plain words and on one screen. If a page on this site is wrong, it is mine to fix — write to me and I will.
